Your PlayStation 4 is acting up again. You’ve tried turning it off and on, but that doesn’t seem to be fixing the issue. Maybe you should try clearing the cache? Here’s how to do it!

    What is PS4 Cache?

PS4 Cache is a temporary storage location for data that your PlayStation 4 needs to load. When you load a game or application, your PS4 will first look for the data in the Cache, and if it’s not there, it will load it from the hard drive. This helps to speed up loading times, as the Cache can store frequently accessed data. However, over time, the Cache can become full and cause slowdowns. To fix this, you can clear the Cache on your PS4. To do this, go to Settings > Application Saved Data Management > System Storage Management > Saved Data in System Storage > Delete. This will delete all of the data in the Cache and free up space. You may notice a slight decrease in loading times after doing this, as the Cache will need to be rebuilt.

When Do You Need to Clear PS4 Cache?

PlayStation 4 has a built-in hard drive that can become overloaded over time. When this happens, the console may start to lag or freeze up. One way to improve the performance of your PS4 is to clear the cache. The cache is a temporary storage area where the console keeps frequently-used files. By clearing the cache, you can free up some space on the hard drive and help the console run more smoothly. Here’s how to clear the cache on your PS4:

    1. Turn off your PS4.
    2. Press and hold the power button for seven seconds to enter Safe Mode.
    3. Connect a DualShock 4 controller to your PS4 using a USB cable.
    4. Press the PlayStation button on the controller to access the home screen.
    5. Scroll down to “Settings” and select it with the X button.
    6. Scroll down to “System” and select it with the X button.
    7. Select “Storage Management” with the X button.
    8. Scroll down to “Applications” and select it with the X button.
    9. Select “Delete” with the X button.
    10. Select “OK” when prompted.
    11. Press the PlayStation

    Clear PS4 Cache Completely

PlayStation 4 comes equipped with an internal hard drive that stores games, apps, screenshots, and other types of media. Over time, the cache can become full and start to impact performance. To keep your PS4 running its best, it’s important to clear the cache on a regular basis. The good news is that clearing the cache is a quick and easy process. Here’s how to do it:

First, power down our PS4 completely. Next, disconnect the power cord from the back of the console. Once the cord is disconnected, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. This will discharge any residual electricity in the system and clear the cache. Finally, reconnect the power cord and turn on your PS4. The console will rebuild the cache as it starts up, and you should notice an improvement in performance.

Clear Cache for a Specific Game

Your PlayStation 4 console has a built-in hard drive that stores temporary files, game data, and downloaded applications or games. The cache is used to store frequently accessed data so that it can be quickly retrieved when needed. Over time, the hard drive can become full and this can impact the performance of your console. One way to free up space on your hard drive is to clear the cache. This will delete all temporary files and data from the hard drive. You can clear the cache for a specific game by going to the game’s settings menu and selecting “Clear Cache.” Doing this will delete any temporary files that have been stored on the hard drive for that game. Keep in mind that clearing the cache will not delete any saved games or progress. It will only delete temporary files.
