Ecommerce businesses have to be careful with the checkout process. One of the most common mistakes is not having a guest checkout option. This can cause customers to abandon the cart. It is also important to have a secure checkout. This is a way to protect the customer and the business.  This can be done by having a SSL certificate issued. This is an easy way to make sure that the customer is protected.

    • Not Including Free Shipping

Free shipping is a great perk for online shoppers, but it can also be a huge cost for the company. The average cost of shipping a package is about $4.00, but it can be as low as $2.00 for a small package and as high as $7.  00 for a large package. As a result, companies like Amazon lose a lot of money on free shipping.

    • Not Including Other Promotions

The only way to get the best deals is to buy them when they’re on sale. But sometimes, the best deals don’t happen when you’re looking for them. That’s why we’re always on the lookout for the best deals and promotions.  When customers are looking for the best deals, they often find themselves on the homepage of a website. The homepage needs to be compelling enough to get them to click through to the product page. However, the homepage should not be cluttered with other promotions. A cluttered homepage will cause visitors to bounce from the site, even if they were interested in the product. What we’ve learned from website usability tests is that users don’t like to have too many choices. If you want to get them to click, make their decision easy.

    • Including Shipping Costs in the Price

Shipping is a necessary part of any online purchase and most people have to pay for it. When you’re shopping for a product, you’ll often see the shipping cost listed in the price of the product. But, how much shipping costs should be included in the price of the product is a hotly debated topic.

    • Not Including a Shipping Method

Shipping is one of the most difficult aspects of online shopping. It’s so easy to forget to add a shipping method, and then you have to go back and add it to your cart. This can take a while and can be a hassle. To avoid this, you can download a free app called Shipping Easy  ! It will build your store, allowing you to attach your shipping methods to the products you add to your cart. This allows you to add shipping to your cart quickly and efficiently.

    • Not Including a Contact Method

Not including a contact method on your website is a bad idea. If a customer is not satisfied with a product, they will have no way of reaching out to you to get their money back. It is also a bad idea because you cannot get in contact with your customers to remind them of new products.

    • Including Too Many Checkout Steps

Checkout is one of the most important steps in the customer journey. Most shoppers will abandon a purchase if they encounter too many steps in the checkout process. The checkout process should be as simple and streamlined as possible. It should have a minimal number of steps and should require the least amount of  information possible. There should be no unnecessary steps or distractions, like pop-ups, sidebars, or irrelevant information.

    • Not Including a Clear Return Policy

Some websites will not have a clear return policy and it is important to know what the policy is before purchasing anything. For example, if you buy a shirt and it does not fit, you will need to return it. If you are not sure of the return policy on the website, it is best to call the company  directly and ask before you purchase anything.

    • Not Including the Terms & Conditions anywhere on the Page

The Terms & Conditions are the most important part of any contract. They are the legal documents that detail the terms and conditions that are binding on the parties involved in a contract. They are so important, in fact, that they are often the first thing that is read and the last thing that is read. Yet, many  people never read the ToC. This can be a big mistake.
